ABOUT

UNBEATON is a lifestyle blog doccumenting the journey and aventures of two mid-twenty year olds who have recently moved to Cumbria. Written by Lorna, the blog will grow to include all sorts of elements from travel to crafts and handmade items, to product reviews and helpful guides (Future shares; hush hush for now).

We met in 2016 and have been hypothetically glued to each others sides since. Our favourite thing to do together is simply explore and experience new things. We’re quite new to travelling and have only explored Europe so far, but have a big trip to Orlando planned for early 2020 and can’t wait to get a taste of America.

About me (Lorna)

I have always been a big fan of creating things myself; from clothing to home decor, and even cozy blankets for the sofa. With an attitude of “Well if they can do it; so can i” I have taught myself many skills over the last 10 years. My recent role as a self-employed creative has been to produce handmade children’s clothing, and create an E-zine focussing on supporting small businesses. I love to write and share photography, and UNBEATON is my way of doing this alongside my little life I am building.

Since the age of 18 I have battled with my self image and relationship with food. I’ve been on a permanent journey of weight gain, weight loss, and my life being defined by the scales. One of my goals for 2020 is to take control and stop letting it control me. 10 years is a long time to be influenced by a negative view of myself, and I’ve decided enough is enough. I’ll be sharing my journey with body positivity and a healthier approach to life; which will include a hopeful healthy weight loss and a sustainable lifestyle to maintain a healthy weight.

About Joe

Joe is a Long distance lorry driver, working accross the UK to deliver concrete and various parts of infastructure to developments. He has been lorry driving since 19 and has travelled Europe in his truck. He’s a fun loving, spontaneous lad with a passion for adventure. He has a simple approach to life and doesn’t use social media (Wtf?!) So although heavily featured on the blog posts and the main subject of photography, he doesn’t do any of the writing..

Only being home at weekends has been difficult in a relationship but we’re at our happiest either exploring the world, or curled up on the sofa together watching films.
